Country Manager of UN Global Compact Network: Sustainability is now part of shareholder value

“As the Global Compact Network, our focus is directed toward the social sphere, development, and business. We stand as a membership-based organization promoting responsible business practices and more sustainable development approaches,” said Samir Mammadov, Country Manager of the UN Global Compact Network in Azerbaijan, during the joint opening session of the assemblies held within the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Highlighting that the business environment has changed, Samir Mammadov noted: “Sustainability is now part of shareholder value. It directly translates into financial outcomes, whether as loss or profit. This requires innovation. As in every field of business, here too you either win or lose.”
