South African mayor: Azerbaijan can serve as a model for other countries in the development of urban infrastructure

“The World Urban Forum is of great importance in shaping the future of resilient cities,” Kenalemang Rose Phukuntsi, Mayor of Tswelopele Local Municipality, who is participating in the WUF13, told AZERTAC.
Rose Phukuntsi stressed that climate resilience and climate-adapted cities should be key priorities in planning and decision-making. She noted that international urban forums enable experience-sharing and produce decisions that directly affect communities. She also underscored that Azerbaijan plays a crucial role in advancing urban resilience by hosting such events and can serve as an example for other countries.
