They say, a man has to plant a tree, build a house, and bring up a son. It can be probably said when his life does not pass in vain and is useful for his nation, Motherland and humanity.

Heydar Aliyev has built, created and glorified Our House – the Independent Azerbaijan.

Heydar Aliyev has created a beautiful garden – a blooming Azerbaijan.

Heydar Aliyev has brought up a worthy son, who substituted the leadership of the Country on will of the nation and took the glorious and responsible job to lead Motherland to happiness and bright future.

How could a man cope with all these deeds?

Let us recall saying by Archimedes: «Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand, and I will move the world”.

Heydar Aliyev had such a place to stand. It was his love for Motherland, for his nation, the goal to see his people living in stability, solidarity and welfare, and the will to devote his life to this.

The genius leader of Azerbaijan basing on this has been over thirty years carrying out this burden of responsibility on his shoulders.

Just this and other features of the leadership of Heydar Aliyev were admired everywhere and in everybody, and were reflected in thoughts of numerous outstanding people.

YOU HAVE STOOD WITH US IN PUBLIC, AND BACKED UP YOUR WORDS WITH DEEDS

Dear Mr. President,

It was a pleasure to see you in Washington on your recent visit. I wanted to write to you to again express the gratitude of the American people for the support that you and your government have given thus far to the Global War on Terrorism. We will not forget those who have stood with us.

You have stood with us in public, and backed up your words with deeds. Thanks to your leadership, Azerbaijani soldiers are serving side by side with our forces in Afghanistan. Our operations in that country would not have been possible without the over flight rights you have granted. Your cooperation in law enforcement and information sharing has done much to bring about success in ongoing operations against terrorist groups.

We both know that leadership consists of standing up to challenges. As we discussed during our February 26 meeting in Washington, the world faces a profound challenge in this new century from the combination of weapons of mass destruction, the scourge of terrorism, and states that sponsor or abet terrorism. No nation can defeat these enemies alone; success depends on the widest possible international collaboration.

That is my conviction, and my commitment. Your contributions have made and will continue to make a great difference.
