Baku, May 17, AZERTAC
“Future cities should ensure people’s comfort and that public transport does not pollute the air. Areas selected for new city development should be suitable for infrastructure construction, ensuring proper and well-planned urban systems,” Habibollah Taherkhani, Deputy Minister of Housing and Construction of Iran, who is participating in the WUF13, told AZERTAC.
Habibollah Taherkhani stressed that future cities must be resilient to natural disasters and ensure decent living conditions for all citizens. He stressed the need for equal opportunities and warned that excluding parts of society leads to social injustice. He also emphasized that Iran is addressing these issues in its urban policies.
The deputy minister praised the organization of the event and noted that Baku’s infrastructure meets modern standards, with comfortable living conditions. He added that Iran is currently rebuilding damaged cities using new technologies, with a focus on mobility, comfort, and accessibility.
