Mikhail Gusman: Participation from countries worldwide at WUF13 highlights the global nature of urbanization

“The organization of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum in Baku is a clear reflection of the high international reputation of Azerbaijan, the city of Baku, and the country’s leadership,” renowned journalist Mikhail Gusman told AZERTAC.
Noting that Azerbaijan’s experience in reconstruction and territorial development is important for the international community, he emphasized that it has become more evident after the 44-day Patriotic War and the rebuilding of liberated territories.
He also noted that broad participation at the forum highlights the global nature of urbanization, stressing that sharing experience and improving people’s lives is a shared responsibility of humanity and the United Nations.
Mikhail Gusman highlighted the importance of President Ilham Aliyev’s meeting with UN-Habitat Executive Director Anacláudia Rossbach and the signing of an agreement between Azerbaijan and the UN, saying it reflects Azerbaijan’s significant role within the United Nations. He noted that the forum has already drawn strong international interest and said he expects President Ilham Aliyev’s speech to outline strategic directions and Azerbaijan’s vision for strengthening global cooperation.
