Agricultural production increases by 2.6 pct in eight months

Baku, September 11, AZERTAC

In January–August of this year, agricultural products worth 10.057 billion manats at current prices were produced in the country. The physical volume of agricultural production increased by 2.6 percent compared with the same period of the previous year, the State Statistics Committee said.

Livestock production increased by 2 percent, while crop production rose by 3.1 percent. Crop production accounted for 50 percent of total output, while livestock production accounted for the other 50 percent.

The 2.8-percent growth rate recorded in January–July fell to 2.6 percent by the end of August. Growth in the crop sector slowed from 3.2 percent to 3.1 percent, while growth in the livestock sector declined from 2.4 percent to 2 percent.
