Hosting WUF13 is a great honor and responsibility for Azerbaijan. WUF13 is more than just a conference. It is a platform where we don't just discuss urban policy but also build the partnerships and implement the New Urban Agenda and development goals, said Anar Guliyev, National Coordinator of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) and Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, during the Leaders' Statements at WUF13.
The Committee Chairman mentioned that we are at a time when cities are already at the center of climate change for the global community, highlighting the importance of the forum.
Touching upon the importance of this year's forum, Anar Guliyev noted that for the first time, a meeting of leaders, heads of state and government was organized at WUF13 at the initiative of Azerbaijan.
