Panel discussions on “The Foundation for Prosperity: Secure Housing as a Catalyst for Economic Growth and Social Inclusion” held

Panel discussions entitled “The Foundation for Prosperity: Secure Housing as a Catalyst for Economic Growth and Social Inclusion” was held at the Canadian pavilion within the framework of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
The event was focused on the issues of housing rights, land security and women's empowerment.
The discussions brought together representatives from Angola, Kenya, Uganda, as well as international organizations engaged in the fields of sustainable urbanization and protection of housing rights.
Moisés Festo, program manager of the Development Workshop Angola, stressed the importance of international cooperation in addressing social and housing challenges. He noted that the partnership with Canada and international donors helps to implement population support programs, promote initiatives aimed at human rights and sustainable development.
The speakers agreed that secure housing and land rights are not only a social necessity, but also a key driving force in economic growth, urban sustainability, and the reduction of inequality.
