Belarusian media highlight WUF13 as high-level platform for urban challenges

Belarusian media outlets, including “BelTA” and "Belarus Today" have widely covered the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.
The media outlets published articles highlighting the importance of WUF13, the speech of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the official opening ceremony, and the active participation of the Belarusian delegation in the high-level event.
The articles emphasized the views expressed by Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, during the WUF13 Leaders’ Statements. It was also noted that Belarus is ready to share its experience and opportunities in the field of urban planning.
According to the articles, the World Urban Forum was established in 2001 by the United Nations to address one of the most pressing challenges facing the world today: rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, climate change, and policy.
The articles noted that WUF13 provides an open and inclusive high-level platform for addressing the challenges of sustainable urbanization. According to the UN, WUF13 is focused on the global housing crisis, which affects approximately 2.8 billion people worldwide.
