WUF13 helps shape approaches to building sustainable and livable cities of the future, says Bangladeshi official

The 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) is of great importance for all of us, as it helps shape approaches to building sustainable and livable cities of the future. Climate issues are becoming increasingly important today, and we must think about the legacy we leave to our children so they can live in a safe, environmentally friendly, and decent urban environment, Mohammad Abdul Awal, Deputy Secretary at the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance of Bangladesh, told AZERTAC during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.

According to him, such international platforms make it possible to better understand ongoing global processes, exchange views and ideas, and learn from the experiences of other communities and countries in addressing pressing urban challenges. This concerns not only urban planning, but also sustainable housing, support for residents of informal settlements, and ensuring decent living conditions for low-income populations.

“Through joint efforts and the exchange of experience, we can make cities safer, more sustainable, and more comfortable for everyone,” he emphasized.
