55 per cent of children aged 5 to be involved in preschool education this year, minister says
Baku, October 8, AZERTAC
“Fifty-five percent of children aged 5 will be involved in preschool education in Azerbaijan this year,” said Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov as he addressed a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
He emphasized that by 2020 this figure will increase to 90 per cent, which is equal to the level of developed countries.
Stressing the importance of preschool education, the minister said that preschool groups, which were launched as a pilot project in Baku in 2014, have developed into a national program.
