Anacláudia Rossbach: WUF13 features extensive international participation and high activity

“I express my gratitude to Azerbaijan for hosting this impressive event at a high level. WUF13 stood out for its wide international participation and high activity, bringing together over 57,000 participants, 55% of whom were women and girls,” said Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, in her remarks at the official closing press conference of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Anacláudia Rossbach noted that the presence of numerous heads of state and ministers underlined the strong political and institutional importance of WUF13. She highlighted that the “Urban Expo” was widely visited by 74,000 people and that nearly 580 sessions were organized on topics such as sustainable cities, climate resilience, inclusive urbanization, and future urban development. She added that the forum played a key role in strengthening global partnerships and advancing the urban development agenda.
