Baku, September 13, AZERTAC
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is visiting Syria on September 13–14 for talks with senior Syrian officials focused on bilateral relations, Syria’s integration process, economic cooperation, regional connectivity, and security developments, according to Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry.
Fidan is scheduled to meet Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani on Sunday, followed by a joint news conference scheduled for 3:15 p.m. Türkiye time.
He is also expected to be received by Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and hold talks with Interior Minister Anas Khattab.
The visit follows Fidan’s meetings with al-Shaibani in Ankara on August 6 and September 8 and reflects what the ministry described as close cooperation established between Türkiye and Syria in multiple areas since December 8, 2024.
