President Ilham Aliyev received delegation led by Vice-President of Total Michael Borrell
Baku, September 9 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today received delegation led by the Vice President of France-based Total Michael Borrell. Welcoming the guests, President Ilham Aliyev assessed Total`s exploration of Absheron offshore block located in the Azerbaijan`s part of the Caspian Sea as an extremely significant project. The Head of State said exploration of a new gas field will strengthen the role of Azerbaijan among the major gas producing countries.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that for a long time Total has been successfully operating in Azerbaijan and exploration of a new gas field is a very significant achievement.
Michael Borrell, in turn, said that exploration of Absheron natural gas field is extremely significant. He also spoke about Total`s successful cooperation with SOCAR.
Vice-President of Total briefed President Ilham Aliyev on Total`s operations in Azerbaijan. He said the company is pleased to continue developing its presence in the Republic of Azerbaijan and to strengthen ties with Azerbaijan.
First Vice President of SOCAR Khoshbakht Yusufzadeh informed President Ilham Aliyev on technical and economic aspects of Absheron block.
President Ilham Aliyev made a statement for press about the exploration of a new gas field.
