Winners of second International Festival-Competition of young performers of classical music among Islamic World countries awarded
Baku, April 27 (AZERTAC). Awarding ceremony of winner of the 2nd International Festival-Competition of young performers of classical music among the Islamic World countries was held Friday at the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli.
The festival is organized and supported by UNESCO, Azerbaijan`s Youth and Sports Ministry, Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli and the Youth Center Kainat.
Speaking to the event, Azerbaijan`s deputy minister of youth and sport Intigam Babayev underlined “the music is a bridge between the people despite their nationality, religion and language”.
Babayev stressed president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva`s role in delivering Azerbaijani culture and music to the world.
Deputy of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Education, representative of Azerbaijan to ISESCO Gulu Novruzov emphasized the importance of the festival-competition in order to make youth closer to each-other.
The attendees have also heard speeches of director of the Youth Center Kainat Rahib Rasulzade and chairman of the international jury panel Narmina Guliyeva.
The festival consisted of 2 aging groups: small group (until 15 years old) and large group (15-20 years old).
In the large group, Azerbaijani performers Firangiz Abdullayeva and Zuleykha Usubova ranked 1st, while Guzel Bayzakova (Uzbekistan) and Nigar Gahramanova (Azerbaijan) 2nd, and Yusif Yusifli, Kamil Hasanov and Rahib Isgandarov (duet, Azerbaijan) 3rd places.
The small group saw Orkhan Huseynov and Rashid Behbudov (Azerbaijan) at 1st place, Kamilla Nurmatova (Uzbekistan) and Leyla Zeynalova (Azerbaijan) 2nd and Elena Abdullayeva (Dagestan) and Diana Amanbayeva (Uzbekistan) 3rd place.
Azerbaijani performer Elgun Agazade gained the Grand-Prix.
The other 3 performers were awarded with special prize of the Baku Music Academy.
The Center of the Egypt Culture has also presented keepsakes to jury panel members.
The festival brought together more than 40 talented youth from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Dagestan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Kuwait and Morocco.
The ceremony ended with a gala concert of winners.
