3rd Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival wraps up in Baku

The closing ceremony of the 3rd Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival has been held at the Heydar Aliyev Center as part of the "Shusha - the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2023".
President of Baku Media Center Arzu Aliyeva, officials, well-known artists of the Turkic world and other guests attended the ceremony.
Prior to the event, Arzu Aliyeva viewed the exhibition of national costumes and posters of classic and modern films of Azerbaijan.
Then a video highlighting the four-day festival was screened at the ceremony.
Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev made a speech and shared his impressions about the festival. He noted that the 3rd Korkut Ata Turkic World Film Festival is a great opportunity to promote films from the Turkic world. "We will continue to support this festival in the future."
Sultan Raev presented TURKSOY`s special award to People's Artist Fakhraddin Manafov.
Chairman of the jury, People's Artist Vagif Mustafayev highlighted the importance of the festival.
“Yildiz tozu” (Türkiye, directed by Ahmet Sönmez) won the "Best Feature Film" nomination. The award was presented by President of Baku Media Center Arzu Aliyeva.
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli presented the "Crane Bird" award to the representative of Turkmenistan, symbolizing the transfer of the next Korkut Ata festival to the city of Anev, Turkmenistan.
Adil Karimli hailed the importance of the festival, and thanked everyone who contributed to this event.
The festival was organized by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture, the Heydar Aliyev Center, TURKSOY, the Cinema Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Baku Media Center in Baku from October 8-11.
The festival featured 32 feature, documentary, and animation films made by Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan as well as Gagauz-Yeri (Moldova), Tatarstan, Sakha-Yakutia, Dagestan (Nogai), Kabardino-Balkaria, Chuvashia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Tuva and Bashkortostan (Russian Federation).
The first and second editions of the festival were held in the Turkish cities of Istanbul and Bursa in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
