Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission approves Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for upcoming presidential election

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan chaired by Mazahir Panahov has today approved the candidacy of Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev, who was nominated by the New Azerbaijan Party for the post of President of Azerbaijan during the 6th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) held on February 8, for the upcoming presidential election.
The CEC informed that the documents required for registration of the candidacy of Azerbaijani President and chairman of New Azerbaijan party (YAP) Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev for the post of the country’s president have been submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) on February 9, 2018.
According to the decision made by the Central Election Commission, the candidacy of Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev for the post of the country’s president in the forthcoming presidential elections to be held on April 11, 2018 has been approved.
