“Cooperation in the context of the Middle Corridor, which has come to the fore as a reliable transport route, serves our common interests. We have completed an important part of the corridor with the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway,” said President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan as he addressed the expanded meeting of the presidents of Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Turkmenistan in the city of Turkmenbashi.
“We have put in place the entire transport route along the East-West direction by commissioning Marmaray, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, the Istanbul Airport, the Osman Gazi and 1915 Canakkale Bridges. We need to work together to make this route more convenient and speed up border crossing and customs clearance procedures,” the Turkish President mentioned.
“The abolition of land transit fees and visas for carriers of all three countries or keeping them at a certain level, extending visa periods with discounts on visa fees will contribute to a further increase of our trade turnover. The documents to be signed a little later in the field of transport and customs will form the basis for our efforts,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted.
