PROSECUTOR GENERAL OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS PRESIDENT OF SUPREME JUDICIAL COURT OF AUSTRIA
Mr. Zakir Garalov stressed the importance of the cooperation agreements recently signed between Supreme Courts of Azerbaijan and Austria.
He said the bilateral relations between the two countries were established in July 2000 when President Heydar Aliyev visited Austria.
Mr. Garalov also noted that ties between the judicial and prosecution authorities of Azerbaijan and Austria have improved since the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and partnership program between the Justice Ministries and Offices of Prosecutor General of the two countries.
Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan expressed hope that the return visit of the delegation of the Azerbaijan Prosecutor Office to Austria would give a new impetus to relations between the two countries.
Zakir Garalov also spoke of the judicial and legal reforms carried out in Azerbaijan since the country gained independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Mr. Johann Rzeszut, for his part, spoke of the judicial system in Austria.
The sides also discussed a wide range of other issues of mutual interest.
