ARMENIAN LOBBY CONTINUES CAMPAIGN AGAINST NEWLY APPOINTED US AMBASSADOR
Well experienced in dissemination of lie and slander, they again resorted to the help of local pro-Armenian print media and congressmen, the report says. The Los Angeles Times, a newspaper, which is the most subjected to influence of the Armenian lobby, publishes articles urging the Senate not to appoint Richard Holland to the post of U.S. Ambassador in Erevan until his attitude to the so-called “genocide” is clear.
Eighteen pro-Armenian members of the Senate committees are reported to have sent to the Department of State a letter demanding explanations for why Ambassador Evans had been recalled, and blaming the Bush-led republicans for supporting Ankara.
Experts, however, believe the party is too strong to yield to the pressure from the Armenians and their patrons.
"Ambassadors serve the president and should follow his policy,” the report quoted US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Bryza as saying.
