Azerbaijani FM meets Deputy Editor-in-Chief of ZDF German Television in Munich
Baku, February 1 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met Deputy Editor-in-Chief of ZDF German Television Elmar Thevessen on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
Mammadyarov highlighted the foreign policy priorities of Azerbaijan, its socio-economic progress, as well as the achievements it has made within short period since regaining independence.
The Minister also spoke of Azerbaijan`s successful energy policy and its role in European energy security, including the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) and Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) projects, and the Shah Deniz 2 Final Investment Decision Signing Ceremony held on December 17 in 2013, in Baku.
Touching upon prospects for development of the Azerbaijan-EU relations, Mammadyarov stressed the importance of building strategic partnership between the two parties.
Speaking about the Armenian military aggression and policy of occupation against Azerbaijan, the Minister stressed that in order to ensure the peaceful settlement of the conflict, first and foremost, armed forces of Armenia must be withdrawn from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
