NATIONAL SECURITY MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS NEW UN RESIDENT COORDINATOR
Baku, July 28 (AZERTAC). National Security Minister of Azerbaijan Eldar Mahmudov has today met with incoming UN resident coordinator, UNDP resident representative Fikret Akcura
Minister Eldar Mahmudov congratulated Akcura on starting his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan. He praised dynamically developing Azerbaijan-UN relationship.
The Minister touched upon Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its consequences, the country`s efforts to solve the problem on the basis of international norms and principles, stressing the need for international organizations to work towards having UN resolutions on occupied territories of Azerbaijan implemented.
Mahmudov also provided information about fight against international terrorism and transnational organized crime.
Akcura vowed to make every effort towards implementation of UN programs contributing to Azerbaijan people`s development and welfare.
The ambassador hailed political stability in the country, which is a major factor for progress of Azerbaijan, underscoring the role of the Ministry of National Security in ensuring security of diplomatic corps and preventing any kinds of threats in all spheres.
