AZERBAIJAN’S CONSUL GENERAL TO LOS-ANGELES PRESENTS HEYDAR ALIYEV AWARDS TO LIVINGSTON PARK COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
Elin Suleymanov, Azerbaijani Consul General to Los-Angeles presented Heydar Aliyev Awards to the Livingston Park County Public Library in Montana, USA to appreciate the Library’s contribution to promoting international cooperation and learning.
The Award winners were Montana University students engaged in Azerbaijani Studies Klay Burnett, Andrew Miller and Ross Pedi.
Dr. Mehrdad Kia, Director of the Central and Southwest Asia Program of the University of Montana, speaking at the event to mark the occasion, draw the participants’ attention to the Azerbaijani leadership’s balanced foreign policy founded by the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev.
According to him, Heydar Aliyev’s views are examples of pragmatism and foresight.
Mr. Elin Suleymanov spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s significant role in the establishment of the Azerbaijani statehood.
Livingston Park County Public Library, in 2007, hosted a performance of the Mugham music, one of the finest examples of the Azerbaijani cultural heritage.
The demonstration of the film called "Kocheri", by Rustam Ibrahimbekov, was organized this year in the Library with the support of the Azerbaijani Consulate General.
The event, just as many other initiatives between Montana and Azerbaijan, had been initiated by Thomas Goltz of Livingston.
