BAKU HOSTING 21ST MEETING OF CIS INTERSTATE COUNCIL FOR NATURAL AND MAN-CAUSED EMERGENCIES
The 21st meeting of the CIS Interstate Council for Natural and Man-caused Emergencies began in the “Crescent Beach” Hotel in Baku, July 30.
The event was attended by the delegates from Azerbaijan, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine, as well as the representatives from the CIS Executive Committee and the Agency for Forecast and Monitoring of Natural Disasters.
Addressing the participants, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister for Emergencies Faig Tagizade provided information about the meeting’s agenda. According to him, the discussions at the event will focus on the results of the 20th meeting, fulfillment of the interstate program on a joint cooperation of the organizations engaged in the scientific researches to eliminate the consequences of emergencies and other issues.
The participants will discuss the work done by the CIS Agency for Forecast and Monitoring of Natural Disasters, and adopt the Action Program for exchange of emergency information among the Commonwealth countries.
A. Kudrin, Director of the CIS Agency for Forecast and Monitoring of Natural Disasters, underlined that the experts from various countries attach great importance to forecasting the emergency situations.
The three-day meeting will end August 1.
