FOREIGN MINISTRY REALIZING PLAN OF ACTIONS TO IMPROVE WORKING CONDITIONS OF AZERBAIJAN’S DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS AND CONSULATES ABROAD - DEPUTY FM
“The plan envisages providing Azerbaijan`s embassies and consulates abroad with new headquarters and vehicles, and their employees with social and medical insurances, as well as switch to centralized payment system, etc.,” Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadykhov told AZERTAC reporter. He noted that currently Azerbaijan has 55 diplomatic missions in foreign countries including 46 embassies, 5 consulates and 4 representative offices to international organizations.
To date, V. Sadykhov said, 18 embassies have already been provided with headquarters, and an agreement has been signed with BMW on purchasing 29 cars this year and 32 - next year.
He also announced that in 2008, Azerbaijan is expected to open seven more embassies in foreign countries.
