HEAD OF SWISS FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT, TRANSPORT, ENERGY AND COMMUNICATIONS VISITS SANGACHAL TERMINAL
Head of Switzerland`s Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications Moritz Leuenberger visited today the Sangachal Terminal as part of his Azerbaijan trip.
Located 45km south of Baku in the Garadag district, the Sangachal Terminal is one of the world’s largest integrated oil and gas processing terminals, and is a vital link in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry.
Leuenberger was informed that the Terminal, covers an area of 730 hectares and has a capacity of exporting 1 million barrels of oil per day via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and 9 billion cubic meters of gas per day via the South Caucasus pipeline.
Moritz Leuenberger familiarized himself with the key facilities at the site, which include crude oil storage tanks, oil and gas processing trains, main power generators and pumps and a central control room.
