PREMIER OF AZERBAIJAN RECEIVES CHIEF OF SWITZERLAND`S FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT, TRANSPORT, ENERGY AND COMMUNICATIONS
Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade Monday received the Head of Switzerland`s Federal Department of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications Mr. Moritz Leuenberger.
Head of the delegation expressed satisfaction with the talks he conducted in Baku, the agreements signed with the ministry of transport, the meetings at the ministries of ecology and natural resources, communications and technologies. Speaking on necessity of expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries, Mr. Leuenberger noted that the decision on the opening of the Swiss embassy in Azerbaijan would promote this. The Swiss business circle, in particular, the banking structures are keen in establishment of ties with Azerbaijan, the opening here of their representations.
Level of economic links still does not meet the potential of both countries, said the Premier of Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that current visit of the Swiss delegation would be the first step in cause of expansion of the mutually beneficial cooperation. It also needs creation of legislative base, the Premier emphasized.
Mr. Rasizade updated the guests on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the occupation by the Armenian armed forces of the Azerbaijani lands and existence of one million of refugees and IDPs ousted from their homelands as a result of Armenian aggression.
