President: Azerbaijan will supply itself and many other countries with natural gas for at least 100 years

“Azerbaijan will su pply itself and many other countries with natural gas for at least 100 years because Shah Deniz gas field has 1.2 trillion cubic metres of gas reserves,” said President Ilham Aliyev as he addressed the launch of the state-of-the-art Khankendi subsea construction vessel in Baku.
“It is one of the largest gas reserves in the world. In total, Azerbaijan’s gas reserves make 2.6 trillion cubic metres.”
The Azerbaijani President hailed Shah Deniz gas field as a strategic project.
“I am glad that everything goes well on this front. I have just been informed that the preparatory works for Shah Deniz 2 stage are 96 per cent complete. It means that the project has been realized,” added President Ilham Aliyev.
