In his turn, President Ilham Aliyev said:
Today, the beautiful city of Antalya hosts two important events: the Turkish Speaking States and Communities’ 10th Congress for Friendship, Fraternity and Cooperation and the 2nd International Eurasia Film Festival. Both are of great importance. Whereas the Turkish Speaking States and Communities’ 10th Congress for Friendship, Fraternity and Cooperation focused on strengthening solidarity between Turkish speaking nations, the 2nd International Eurasia Film Festival covers much wider area. It is very symbolic as the world cultures are meeting in Turkey allowing people to communicate in brotherly and friendly atmosphere. In general, it has a favorable impact on all the processes taking place in the world. As people communicate closely with each other, the world becomes more secure; as different cultures communicate closely with each other, mutual understanding between people becomes better, thereby promoting peace and stability all over the world.
It is very important that both events are held in Turkey. For our part, we - Azerbaijan - are trying to contribute to development of both Turkic the whole world. We are trying to be actively involved in the processes taking place in the world contributing to our common cause.
Please, accept once again my cordial greetings to all my friends and brothers, and best wishes to the Turkic world. I wish the participants of the Festival nice days and meetings in Turkey. Thank you.
Other speakers including Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed out the importance of the festival, development of cinema and the role of culture in the international relations.
