UK to host conference on role of Azerbaijan and Turkey in ensuring Europe`s energy security
Baku, January 24 (AZERTAC). Network of Students (NOS) and Azerbaijani Students and Alumni International Forum (ASAIF) will hold a conference on "Ensuring Energy Security of Europe: the Role of Turkey and Azerbaijan" in the House of Commons of Parliament.
The conference will discuss a range of issues including key elements of the European Energy Security, Azerbaijan and Turkey's role on ensuring energy security of Europe, as well as Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The workshop will provide also a valuable opportunity to officials, foreign and local experts and students to present their expectations on Turkey and Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring South East, Central and Southern European energy security in a manner which is consistent with gradual adoption of EU internal energy principles.
The workshop will also consider Turkey’s role as a main transit country and transportation route of delivering SD gas to the western markets. With that, TANAP, replacing the Nabucco East on a Turkish soil emerges as an inevitable game changer of the Southern Gas Corridor.
The event will bring together Azerbaijani Ambassador to UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov, British MP Eric Joyce, former Turkish foreign minister, MP Yasar Yaki and department head of SAM Rovshan Ibrahimov.
