US ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE: NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT HUGELY IMPORTANT INDEPENDENTLY OF ANY OTHER ISSUE
Baku, March 19 (AZERTAC). The US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Gordon has stressed the significance of solving the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
It is hugely important independently of any other issue, said Gordon, expressing hope for soonest progress in ongoing peaceful talks.
Gordon reaffirmed the United States` support for Azerbaijan on the issue.
According to the US Assistant Secretary of State, settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict would give impetus to energy processes and also intensify the process of establishing peace in the region.
Gordon also expressed confidence the dispute`s settlement would have positive impact on the Turkish-Armenian normalization process.
