AZERBAIJAN HAS POSITIVE EXPERIENCE IN REALIZATION OF REGIONALLY AND GLOBALLY IMPORTANT PROJECTS

PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV PARTICIPATES IN EUROPEAN ECONOMIC SUMMIT
The Summit has gathered some 700 participants from 45 countries, 31 of which were represented by presidents, prime and foreign ministers. Renowned political and public figures, and representatives of business circles are also participating in the event.
The 3-day forum being held under the patronage of President of Poland Alexander Kwasnewski is mainly focusing on the European Union’s 1 May enlargement, its impact on political and economic situation within the Union, as well as stability, competitiveness, pension reform etc.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was welcomed at the “Sofitel Victoria” hotel by a number of the forum participants including President of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development Jean Lemier, representatives of the World Bank and other structures, who asked the Head of State to update them on the large-scale projects being implemented in Azerbaijan, and also touched on a number of other issues.
The European Economic Summit was opened by Polish President Alexander Kwasnewski.
During the plenary session, organizers of the event announced that President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev had been invited to participate in the discussions as a special guest.
Then, the session Chair Dulip Alvivari took floor. He noted in particular that despite 14-year transition period for the Eastern European States to integrate into the European structures, serious problems still exist that arouses a number of questions, which should be discussed in the course of the session.
Before going on to the discussions, however, the Chair gave the floor to President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
