AZERI DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS BUNDESTAG’S GERMANY-SOUTH CAUCASUS GROUP
Deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan Vagif Sadigov met with the visiting members of the German Bundestag’s Germany-South Caucasus Group, foreign ministry press service said.
The group comprising 8 German parliamentarians from numerous committees of Bundestag interested in the results Azerbaijan expects from the European Neighborhood Policy, the country’s participation in regional cooperation programs, bilateral relations between the two countries, the process of settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
As stated, 2008 will be marked as the Year of Azerbaijan in Germany. This will give a new impulse to development of economic cooperation of the countries.
Noting that integration of Azerbaijan to the European structures is one of the priorities in the country’s foreign policy, Mr. Sadigov stressed necessity of activation of the European Union in the South Caucasus, participation in settlement of regional conflicts.
Parties have focused on further continuation of cooperation between the two counties in the field of humanitarian field, including education and scientific-technical fields, exchange of students and application of visa regime between the countries.
