“NAGORNO KARABAKH IS AN INTERNAL PART OF AZERBAIJAN AND THE CONFLICT SHOULD BE SOLVED PEACEFULLY IN THE FRAME OF TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF COUNTRY”, ANDREAS SCHOKENHOFF
“Nagorno Karabakh is an internal part of Azerbaijan and the conflict should be solved peacefully and in the frame of territorial integrity of country”, Andreas Schokenhoff, member of the Bundestag committee on foreign affairs and defense, deputy chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag, said in meeting with the Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Ogtay Asadov, 22 August.
In meeting, attended by chairperson of the PACE Monitoring Committee Eduard Lintner, chairman of the Germany-Azerbaijan Forum Otto Hauser and others, Ogtay Asadov spoke of history of the relations between Germany and Azerbaijan, updated the German guests on the existing links. Currently, the friendly relations between our countries have reached higher level in the economic and political fields, the Speaker underlined. He, in particular, reminded President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Germany in February current year, which gave strong impetus to development of bilateral relations.
Then, Ogtay Asadov updated the guests on the history of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, noting that due to non-constructive position of the Armenian side, the problem still remains unsolved. Armenia has occupied the lands of Azerbaijan. The leading world countries should have influence on the aggressor and demand to withdraw its armed forces from the occupied areas.
Noting that Germany supports Azerbaijan’s policy, Andreas Schokenhoff stressed that Nagorno Karabakh is an internal part of Azerbaijan and the conflict should be solved peacefully and in the frame of territorial integrity of country”.
