Azerbaijan`s innovative projects promoted at 35th session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe

The 35th session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Regional Conference for Europe and Central Asia has started in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
The aim of the conference is to discuss current challenges in food security, sustainable agriculture, the efficient use of natural resources, and the development of rural areas.
The event brought together FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu, ministers, deputy ministers, ambassadors from various countries, as well as heads of international and regional organizations.
Azerbaijan is represented at the international event by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Elchin Zeynalov.
Addressing the event, Elchin Zeynalov highlighted the reforms carried out in the country`s agrarian sector, the key areas of the agrarian development strategy in Azerbaijan and the innovative projects.
The session featured panel discussions on the sustainable development of agri-food systems with the participation of youth, investment dialogue, and strengthening the resilience of agricultural systems. Participants also explored the development of partnerships in the bioeconomy and agrarian sectors, as well as increasing the role of women in agriculture.
The 35th session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe and Central Asia will run until May 15.
