AZERI, JORDANIAN BUSINESSMEN EXPLORE COOPERATION PROSPECTS
Azerbaijani and Jordanian businessmen have met in Baku for a forum aimed at exploring prospects for cooperation on Tuesday.
About 150 business people from Azerbaijan and 90 from Jordan attended the event organized by the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation.
Speaking to the forum, Azeri minister of economic development Mikayil Jabbarov said the country is now among the world`s leaders having the highest GDP growth rate.
He spoke of what has been done to attract investments to Azerbaijan`s economy and improve the country`s business environment.
Jabbarov also touched upon the governmental support of
developing the non-oil sectors of Azerbaijan`s economy.
The deputy minister said there are favorable opportunities for enhancing economic relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan, and making reciprocal investments.
Mikayil Jabbarov stressed his country is ready to make every possible effort towards enhancing the bilateral relations in all spheres, including the non-oil sectors.
Amer Hadidi, Jordan`s minister of industry and trade, said participation in the forum of such a large number of Jordanian businessmen is the evidence of how much interest the country shows in Azerbaijan`s economy.
Other speakers, including Maen Nsour, Chief Executive Officer of the Jordan Investment Board, and, Yarub Qudah, Chief Executive Officer of the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation, highlighted the Jordanian government`s attention to improving the living standards for its citizens.
The Jordanian businessmen pointed to wide opportunities for boosting the bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan in a variety of the non-oil sectors, including agriculture and tourism.
Emil Majidov, President of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation, said there is a favorable investment environment in Azerbaijan.
More than thirty Jordanian companies specializing in industry, construction, agriculture, melioration, pharmaceutics and tourism are demonstrating their products at a three-day exhibition that kicked off in Baku on Tuesday.
