CASPIAN REGION COMMERCIALIZATION SEMINAR FOR OIL, GAS, AND ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS
The seminar will help scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs bring their research results to the global marketplace. Seminar participants were selected on a competitive basis. Preference was given to applicants who are former weapons researchers; are able to develop and commercialize innovative oil, gas, and environmental technologies; and are from either Caspian region countries or those substantially involved in the oil and gas industry, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The CRDF is covering travel costs for the successful out-of-area applicants.
The seminar will focus on basic business skills and best practices for technology and enterprise development in the oil, gas, and environmental sectors. Participants will meet with oil and gas managers who will share their current challenges and needs for technology and product innovation. Participants will learn about intellectual property, strategic marketing, and pursuing partnerships with international companies. They will also hear from local entrepreneurs about specific experiences. Additional training will be provided on applying for grants which fund research and commercialization projects for the ultimate benefit of industry. The seminar is an opportunity for participants to improve international business and technology commercialization skills and to gain knowledge on the needs and procurement practices of Caspian region oil and gas companies.
