WUF13 is an important platform for shaping sustainable cities of future, says Turkmen official
Baku, May 20, AZERTAC
WUF13 is an important platform for shaping sustainable cities of the future, Dilfuza Shiriyeva, an official representative of the State Committee for Construction of City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, said an interview with AZERTAC.
She noted that the exhibition made a very positive impression on the Turkmen delegation and provided an opportunity to present the development experience of Arkadag City — the first and currently the only Smart City in Turkmenistan.
Shiriyeva emphasized that the concept of a smart city is primarily associated with safety and security. Since Arkadag is located in a foothill seismic zone, special seismic sensors have been installed throughout the city. In addition, smart traffic lights and pedestrian crossings for visually impaired citizens have been introduced.
Speaking about the prospects for cooperation between the two countries, Dilfuza Shiriyeva highlighted the rapid pace of development in the host country and drew attention to the striking combination of historic architecture and modern glass buildings. According to her, this contrast is particularly noticeable and leaves a strong impression.
