16 Afghan civilians killed as bus turns turtle

Baku, June 22 (AZERTAC). Sixteen people, all civilians were killed as a passenger bus turned turtle in Herat province 640 km west of capital city Kabul, an official said Wednesday.

"The tragic traffic accident occurred in Farsi district late Tuesday night when a passenger bus turned turtle as a result all 16 travelers including eight women and six children were killed," head of Provincial Council Abdul Zahir Sayedzada told Xinhua.

He blamed the reckless driving for the incident, saying carelessness of the driver had claimed the lives of 16 innocent commuters.

However, he did not say if the driver has survived the accident.
