BAKU TO HOST 11TH FRIENDSHIP, BROTHERHOOD, AND COOPERATION CONGRESS OF TURKIC STATES AND COMMUNITIES
Baku will host 11th Friendship, Brotherhood And Cooperation Congress of Turkic States and Communities on November 17-19.
Previous 10 congresses were held in Turkey. While attending at the 10th congress in Antalya on September 18-20, 2006, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev offered to hold next congress in Baku.
There are all opportunities for Turkish world unity to gain strength and to have a strong political position on international arena.
The integration of Turkic speaking states to international economy arena, cooperation among states, the implementation of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum oil and gas projects, including Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project by Azerbaijan and which attended by Turkey plays a great role in Europe’s energy security. All these make stronger the economic opportunities of Turkic speaking states.
Of course, the great role for foundation and strengthening of Turkish world unity played the common historical root, language and culture of Turkic speaking people. But we must not forget the political will of heads of state. Recently, visiting Azerbaijan Turkish President Abdullah Gul said that the Turkish states showed political will for development of cooperation between the states at all spheres, the friendship and fraternity of the people.
Speaking at the 10th Friendship, Brotherhood and Cooperation Congress of Turkic States and Communities in Antalya, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stressed the necessity for Turkish World to unite.
He said that the processes in Azerbaijan, including the implementation of huge projects contributes to whole Turkish world and for its strengthening.
Azerbaijani President said that we must make more consolidated the Turkish World and must support each other.
The Baku congress will play special role on development of ties, he stressed.
The forum will continue the work started in Antalya and inform the world community on Nagorno Karabakh conflict and Armenia’s injustice position against Turkey.
Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Mongolia, Russia Federation’s republics of Altai, Bashkiria, Chuvashia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Tatarstan, Karachai-Cherkez, Turkic-speaking peoples residing in Crimea (Ukraine), Romania, Bulgaria, Kosovo and Greece, West Brakia region, as well as representatives of Turkish communities of America, Idyll-Ural, Siberia, Middle East, Afghanistan and leadership of social community and non-governmental organization as well as heads of Azerbaijan and Turkish communities in foreign countries will attend the congress.
600 representatives are expected to attend the congress.
President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, Turkey`s Prime Minister Receb Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey`s 9th President Suleyman Demirel and other state and government officials of Turkic speaking states will attend the opening of the Congress.
