High-level officials visit Icharishahar Historical and Architectural Reserve as part of WUF13

As part of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13), the “Icharishahar” State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, made a significant contribution to the international promotion of Azerbaijan's rich historical and cultural heritage, the presentation of the country's ancient urban planning traditions, and the delivery to the world community of the management model implemented in the field of cultural heritage protection.
In this regard, Staša Košarac, Deputy Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Dharambeer Gokhool, President of the Republic of Mauritius; Sami A. Hijjawi, Minister of Local Government in the State of Palestine's 19th Government; Mohammad Ramahi, General Director of the Municipal Development and Lending Fund (MDLF) of Palestinian National Authority; Rachel Chebet Ruto, First Lady of the Republic of Kenya; Lazare Eloundou Assomo, Director of the World Heritage Centre at UNESCO and Say Sam Al, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and others visited the Maiden Tower, the Shirvanshahs' Palace Complex, the Sıratağlı Religious and Architectural Complex, the Bukhara Caravanserai, Museum of Numismatics, Museum of Miniature Books, Information Center and the Residence of the Baku Khans, which are located in the Icharishahar Historical and Architectural Reserve.
The delegation was briefed on the place of the Icharishahar (the Old City) on the UNESCO World Heritage List, projects implemented to protect historical and cultural heritage, the management approach based on the "living heritage" model, modern urban planning principles, digital solutions, and efforts towards sustainable development.
