A panel session on “Rethinking Cultural Heritage and Inclusive Urban Regeneration”, moderated by Nazanine Moshiri, Senior Advisor to the Berghof Foundation, was held as part of WUF13.
The event focused on striking a balance between the preservation of cultural heritage and modern urban development.
The speakers emphasized the importance of preserving historic neighborhoods and urban identity, while minimizing the people displacement during regeneration processes. It was noted that cities should be considered as living organisms and their morphology and cultural memory should be taken as the basis for planning.
