Rafael Tuts: I express my gratitude to Azerbaijan, host of WUF13, for global cooperation

“I express my gratitude to Azerbaijan for its gracious hosting of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), its public support, and its meaningful, practical global cooperation,” stated Rafael Tuts, Director of the Global Solutions Division at the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), during his speech at the SPECA Forum (UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia) held within the framework of WUF13.
Highlighting that establishing connectivity is directly linked to urban development, Rafael Tuts added: “We see that a stronger and broader interregional synergy is possible through the Urban Forum. The Urban Forum is vital in accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level. We call upon all forum participants and attending mayors to conduct Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs) as soon as possible. We look forward to partnering closely with UN Resident Coordinators in each of these countries. We hope to work alongside you in this endeavor and eagerly anticipate a strong partnership.”
