Representative of Saudi Arabia: Physical activity among the population has increased from 13 percent to 59 percent

The Quality of Life Program covers numerous sectors, including urban planning and development, tourism, entertainment, sports and other areas. As a result of the measures taken, physical activity among the population has increased from 13 percent to 59 percent,” said Abdullah Alharbi, Director General for International Relations of the Quality of Life Program Center of Saudi Arabia, at the event “From Commitment to Impact - Advancing Quality of Life in Cities as One” held within the framework of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
He noted that the program was launched in 2018 and several important outcomes have been achieved during this period.
"Taking the sports sector as an example, when the program began, the number of open spaces and infrastructure available for people to engage in physical activity was approximately 300. Today, this figure exceeds 3,200," Abdullah Alharbi added.
