Azerbaijan doesn’t recognize so-called “presidential elections” in South Ossetia, Foreign Ministry
Baku, November 18 (AZERTAC). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has issued a statement on the so-called “presidential elections” held in Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia, Georgia.
The statement reads: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan reiterates its firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and does not recognize the so-called “presidential elections” conducted in Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia, Georgia on November 13, 2011.
The Ministry strongly believes that ongoing negotiation process should be continued in a constructive manner to find a viable solution to the conflict.”
