Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office awards with gold coin of Emperor Constantine Great
Baku, May 25 (AZERTAC). Serbian ambassador to Baku Zoran Vayovich presented a gold coin of Emperor Constantine the Great dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan to Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade on Thursday.
Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade was honored with the coin for his attendance the opening ceremonies of Bajrakli Mosque in Belgrade and St. Petka Church in Novi Sad reconstructed with support of the Azerbaijani state.
The sides also exchanged views on the Azerbaijan-Serbia cooperation, tolerance, inter-religious relations and other issues.
Pashazade said that the relationship between Azerbaijan and Serbia are well develop[ed.
Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office also provided information on progress achieved in protection of religious values in the country thanks to Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and relationship between government and religion.
Touching upon the Armenia -Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Allahshukur Pashazade noted that the conflict must be resolved on the basis of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
“Armenians have destroyed monuments belonging to different religious in Azerbaijani occupied lands and the country`s tangible cultural heritage,” he added.
In his turn, Serbian ambassador appreciated atmosphere of tolerance very highly in Azerbaijan noting the successful development between the two countries.
