Russia`s Foreign Ministry issues statement on election of UN Security Council non-permanent members
Baku, October 25 (AZERTAC). Election of five non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council shows their active role in international affairs and high prestige among the UN member states. We hope that as contributors to the activities of one of the UN main bodies, these countries will help consolidate the central role of the organization in international processes and enhance its effectiveness and credibility in implementation of the global agenda and search for collective responses to the challenges and threats on a wide range of issues, the statement from the Foreign Ministry of Russia said.
The report also noted Russia is ready for constructive cooperation with the newly elected members.
