Shaki to host hand-over ceremony of Project for Renovation of Vocational Training School implemented by Japanese embassy
Baku, August 25 (AZERTAC). A hand-over ceremony of the Project for “Renovation of Shaki Vocational Training School in Shaki City”, implemented within the framework of “Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” provided by the Government of Japan, will be held in Azerbaijan`s Shaki district on Tuesday.
The ceremony will be attended by Japanese ambassador Shusuke Watanabe.
The grant contract on the aforementioned Project was signed between the Embassy of Japan and “Shaki Ecology and Education Center” Social Union on February 2, 2013.
The project aims to improve the education condition of the students studying at the Vocational Training School in Shaki city throughout renovation of the school buildings. The beneficiaries of the said project are the students from Shaki and 8 surrounding regions. The total amount of the Japanese Grant Assistance for the project is $122.513.
So far, including this project 13 projects had been contracted in Shaki region.
“Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” supports projects applied by municipalities, medical institutions, and NGOs, aiming directly at the improvement of living standards of Azerbaijani people.
The total number of projects contracted in Azerbaijan including this time is 168, and the allocated amount is $13.500.995.
A total amount of the grants allotted by the government of Japan to Azerbaijan in the different fields exceeded $1 billion, covering a wide range of areas such as improvement of economic infrastructure, agricultural and social sectors, culture as well as human capacity development.
