80 injured in a train wreck in Guantanamo

Baku, June 29 (AZERTAC). Cuban official media is reporting an accident involving a train that was coming from Cuneira and another one that was going to Holguin.

The accident occurred near Carrea Larga, municipality of El Salvador, Guantánamo province.

Two of those injured Yuemi Rodríguez Cajigal, 16, and Yesenia Olivares Forestal, 21, are reported in serious condition and may require surgery, according to the report. The rest, 5 children and 72 adults, remain at a hospital in Guantanamo with injuries that are not considered life threatening.

"Apparently there was a problem with the brakes, which did not respond," said Charles Joseph Conte, driver of the car engine which crashed into the one from Holguín after violating the railroad crossing.
