Baku, October 5 (AZERTAC). “Current events over the world, in particular, the threats for peace and security today are the major factors of concern. After the cold war era in the past century ended, the question of security has changed its form and essence. But the latest events showed that we have to seriously treat the happenings. Therefore, I highly appreciate this Forum organized by the Azerbaijani leadership. This also is the indicator of significance Azerbaijan gives to global security”, the vice minister for foreign affairs of Japan, Ms. Akiko Yamanaka, who participates at the II Humanitarian Forum in the capital of Azerbaijan, told the AZERTAC reporter.
“Today Azerbaijan makes huge contribution to establishment of peace and security not only in region, but also in the world”, the Japanese guest said.
“Participation of a young, independent state in peacemaking operations in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Iraq is a noteworthy question. The country plays significant role also in protection of natural resources, international cooperation, in the field of food safety, alternative energy. I consider we, the Forum participants have to back Azerbaijan in these questions”, Akiko Yamanaka underlined.
